Refinery disruptions lift US gasoline prices

As refinery outages persist and demand for gasoline rises, analysts anticipate a surge in US fuel prices in the coming weeks. The national average price of gasoline has lingered around $3.40 per gallon since March 8, the highest level since early November, according to AAA data. US refineries have operated at less than 87% of capacity for eight consecutive weeks, the longest such streak since 2021, and gasoline inventories are below their five-year seasonal average.
